British Cycling Announces Partnership with Manchester Based ISOBAR

WEDNESDAY 26 JUNE, MANCHESTER : British Cycling can today announce it has signed a three-year partnership with ISOBAR, the Manchester based compression technology brand that works to drive athletes’ performance.

The partnership will see ISOBAR, a leading provider of innovative compression sportswear provide customised solutions for over 60 Olympic and Paralympic riders across four disciplines, supporting improved recovery during training and competition.

This exciting collaboration marks a significant advancement for both ISOBAR and British Cycling, as they come together in their shared values of performance, innovation and excellence to support athletes across various cycling disciplines, from road racing to track events on the global stage.

Although performance and recovery of athletes remains a focus, further research and product development will continue in the areas of athletes’ travel, reducing and preventing injuries and accelerating rehabilitation.

Dr Steve Faulkner, Great Britain Cycling Team Training Science Lead said: "ISOBAR offers a unique capability to provide custom-fitting compression garments, delivering the desired level of compression to targeted muscles to enhance the recovery process.

“This has maximised our riders' capacity to recover from and adapt to training and racing, ensuring they reach their full potential as we prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer. With British Cycling known for leading innovation globally, we firmly believe that Isobar shares this value and will contribute to our team's global success."

Darren Henry, Commercial Director at British Cycling said: "It’s fantastic to have ISOBAR an industry leader and Manchester–based business, close to the home of British Cycling, join our family of commercial partners, supporting our Olympic and Paralympic riders as they deliver for world-class performances.”

Clive Gunther, CEO at ISOBAR said: "After successful trials of our compression system, we are thrilled to partner with British Cycling, an organisation that shares our commitment to excellence and innovation. Cycling demands endurance, strength, and resilience, and our new Sports Compression System is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of cyclists. We look forward to working closely with British Cycling and contributing to the success of their athletes and are particularly proud to be supplying the British Olympic and Paralympic cycling teams for Paris 2024.”

Speaking of the 2024 European Track Championships, where he won gold in the men’s individual pursuit and team pursuit, Dan Bigham said; “It was an incredibly successful week all round. It was no coincidence to see plenty of ISOBAR compression wear floating about the GB pen at the track as the medals came in.

“It definitely helped me as I was very consistent across all five rides, something I’ve struggled with in compacted competition schedules.”

The sponsorship agreement between ISOBAR and British Cycling exemplifies the shared values of performance, innovation, dedication to excellence and reliance on science-based evidence. Through this partnership, both organisations aim to empower cyclists to achieve their full potential and inspire others to embrace the sport.
